Best Fight Ever

This may surprise you, it may even shock you! Actually it won’t do either of those things, it will just make you laugh.

Even though this fight doesn’t take place in a ring, or an octagon, on in the streets, you will love watching the girl in the yellow bikini flipping out. Unfortunately there are no boobs flopping out, but the chick in the yellow bikini actually rips out a large clump of hair extensions from the brunette.

… then there’s the girl in pink, who gets a pipe bashed over her head!

You can always count on a heated Brazilian chick to turn things upside down. This video is in Portuguese, so let me help by letting you into the dialog:

“During an audition for a commercial, Vivi Fernandez was extremely pissed off with another model”

“The feud started in the studio”

“She did NOT like to be called a fake blond”

“It only got worse when the other model said Vivi’s butt was flabby when she was dancing”

“Things got heated behind the scenes, when Vivi went after the other model asking: ‘Tell me again, what am I?’”

…Vivi Fernandez went on to become one of Brazil’s top porn stars… Go figure!

Best movie fight scene of all time

UndefeatableSome of you may not have seen this, but if you have, I am sure KNOW you are going to stick around and watch this one more time. Not only that, but you will call everyone around you to look at this piece of art. Nominated the BEST FIGHT SCENE OF ALL TIME by over 3,000,000 YouTube viewers, is this awesome scene from “Undefeatable“.

That’s right, the name of the movie is “Undefeatable”. Made in 1994, which was an okay year, and starring Cynthia Rothrock, John Miller and Don Niam. Don’t ask me who they are because I don’t know, but boy can they punch, kick and lick bloody knives!!!

I know what you’re thinking… “The Fighter Writer is pretty damn bold (and a damn fool some may say) to nominate this as the best fight scene ever”. This is not me, it’s the people. One of these days I’ll blog about my favorite movie fights, but even if this isn’t the one, it still deserves to be featured because it’s amazing!!

Enjoy the cinematic!

Systema - Russian Martial Art

Systema is an ancient Russian style of martial art. It dates back to the 10th century!

Systema LogoSystema can also be called by another name, “ponzai sebia” which means “know yourself”. This principle incorporates what Systema is all about. One of its core values is “non-destruction”, and like many other martial arts, it’s not just a workout, it’s a lifestyle.

Throughout Russia’s history, invaders would appear from all possible directions, perpetually trying to conquer the land and people. In constant conflict with Russians, these attackers would have distinctively different strategies, weaponry, and styles of combat. Over time, the Russian warriors were able to develop a versatile and innovative set of combat tactics that were not only practical, but they worked.

Systema demonstrationWith the onset of Communism, which began in 1917, many of Russia’s traditions were suppressed. The way of fighting developed by the Russian warriors of old became not only prohibited, but people caught practicing it were severally punished. As the authorities noticed how efficient this way of fighting was, they reserved the right for one small group to be allowed to practice such techniques. Within the Spetsnaz or Voiska Spetsialnogo Naznachenia — which stands for the Russian Special Forces — there are a few Special Operations Units that would be assigned high risk tasks. Those soldiers went under a tough, arduous and intense training, and would become the modern masters of this traditional style of fighting.

Royce Gracie

Royce GracieThis post is in honor of one man who shook the world of MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).

Royce Gracie, MMA fighter and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion, captured the eyes of the world in the mid 90’s, during the first UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship). The international fighting arena had never before seen such a large scale MMA competition, and Royce swept the first UFC, second and fourth!

During the first two championships (UFC 1 and UFC2), Royce won 11 fights by submission against the odds, and against much bigger opponents. During the UFC 5, Royce fought Ken Shamrock and tied in a super fight!

Royce revolutionized the world of MMA as the fighting communities around the world saw that there was finally a clear example of how “size does not matter”. Grappling, cross-training and MMA became paramount for all UFC fighters.

Royce Gracie vs Yoshida

When you are watching the video below, notice how crazy things were during the first UFC. “Boxer v.s. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu“… and the boxer was actually wearing boxing gloves! It took a few years for people to start realizing that when you mix martial arts, some are just better designed for real fighting than others. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu became very popular world wide around that time, and soon other martial arts started to interest athletes serious about becoming UFC champions.
